Take Aim: How Setting Goals and Taking Action Lead to Synchronicity and Manifestation

When you align yourself to a goal, embody change, and take actions toward those goals there are two things that you can expect to happen. You will invite synchronicity and manifestation into your life. This is a not an opinion, this is not self-help jargon or fluff… This is a fact.

The moment you set intentions and move towards a goal, the external world will shift around the goals that you’ve set your aim on. You’ll be given synchronistic signs to remind you that you’re on the right (or sometimes wrong) path. For example, if you go into the grocery store with the goal of finding something to cook for dinner tonight, something is going to happen that you can’t really explain…

Your eyes are going to fixate on an ingredient, or on a certain vegetable, or a certain cut of meat that’ll inspire you to cook a certain dish. You may not have had any intention of cooking that particular dish. So, why did your eyes fixate on one ingredient and inspire you to go with that meal in your head? It’s more of a reflex than it is a thought out process. Sometimes we go to the grocery store with a very sharp focus on what we’re buying, I’m simply referring to the process of when you’re in the flow and figuring something out on the fly.

Whatever the inspiration is, it doesn’t mean you’re going to be inspired to cook the greatest meal of all time. Sometimes, your eyes may find a box of mac and cheese. That mac and cheese may serve its own synchronistic purpose, but the point remains the same. Something outside of your consciousness fixated on an item and your brain decided, yep, this is it. This is what we’re going with tonight.

The inspiration for this message…

On Friday evening, I went out for a hike. I wanted to focus my energy on a particular subject during this hike so I actively set an intention when I got to the trailhead. It was an out and back trail, so when I got to the turnaround point, I took 5 minutes to sit and meditate before heading back to my truck.

As I was sitting there, eyes closed, quietly practicing gratitude, a hummingbird came to greet me. When this happened, I was actively thanking the land of Sedona. I thanked her for being so magnetic and having such a strong effect on me. In that exact moment, I quickly opened my eyes because I was startled by the buzzing of the hummingbird’s wings. That’s how close it was to my face. Then, the hummingbird sat on a branch, roughly 5 feet in front of me. We sat in this moment for about 30 seconds before he went back to living as his hummingbird life.

There are synchronicities happening all around you all the time. The only thing that brings synchronicities into your consciousness is the goal or intention you’ve set for yourself. Without goals, without intentions, without awareness, you’re experiencing life as a result of external stimuli. The hummingbird would’ve made for a cool hike, but it would’ve lacked meaning. Who knows, maybe if I didn’t set an intention I never would’ve sat down to meditate. I would’ve just turned around and started heading to the parking lot.

How does this lead to manifestation? If you want to manifest anything, you must first set a goal or an intention. Then, you mentally assume the role of the person who’s going to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself. Then, you take action and move yourself in that direction consistently and consciously. The world will reshape itself around your manifestations aim. You will begin to see things change, you will see signs, and those signs will keep you on the right path. Over time, you will then become the manifestation you sought in the first place.

You’re currently manifesting the world you’re living in right now and you probably aren’t even aware of it. Your current perception of the world is a manifestation of the beliefs and opinions you have of the world. If you think the world is evil, corrupt and sick, then that’s exactly what you’re going to see. Your eyes will seek things that perpetuate the narrative that the world is evil and sick. You’ll be shown sign after sign that enhance your preconceived beliefs.

The world is exactly what you believe it is. So, you need to KNOW the world is abundant, beautiful and that you’re moving in the right direction. Your eyes will then find and focus on the signs that confirm this belief. As you continue to do this, you will be subconsciously reconstructing your perception to find the positive, beautiful and synchronistic messages that remind you how much you’re learning and how far you’ve come. This, I can guarantee, if you just put in the work.

Manifestation isn’t just sitting in front of the mirror and telling yourself that you’re going to become a millionaire one day. So, go set a goal for yourself. Take action and move in the direction to achieve those goals. Assume the role of the person you will be when you reach those goals. Then, open your eyes and be perceptive to your changing world as it displays synchronicities for you. Henry Ford said it best, “whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
